چکیده

I nformation of the segmented left ventricular (LV) area supplied by every coronary artery is potentially useful for strategy and practice of percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary artery bypass surgery, or percutaneous transluminal septal myocardial ablation (PTSMA). 2 Myocardial contrast echocardiography (MCE) with intracoronary contrast injection has been used to evaluate the segmented LV area supplied by a coronary artery but it is invasive and evaluation of myocardial enhancement by ultrasound contrast material may depend upon the skill of the investigator. With a prototype high speed cone beam computed tomography (CT) apparatus employing 256 detector rows (Athena, Sony-Toshiba), an entire heart can be imaged within a single gantry rotation. 4 Using this technique, combined with selective intracoronary injection of contrast, we determined the segmented LV area supplied by every coronary artery selectively.

Effect of Slice Thickness on the Accuracy of Linear Measurements Made on Cone Beam Computed Tomography Images (InVitro

Objective: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is applied for the imaging of the maxillofacial and dental structures, particularly for surgical treatments and dental implants. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of slice thickness on the accuracy of CBCT linear measurements. Methods: In this diagnostic accuracy study, forty-two titanium pins with the same dimensions were inserted...

Methods to evaluate the performance of kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography in the three-dimensional reconstruction space

Background: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanners for image-guided radiotherapy are in clinical use today, but there has been no consensus on uniform acceptance to verify the CBCT image quality yet. The present work proposed new methods to fully evaluate the performance of CBCT in its three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction space. Materials and Methods: Compared to the traditional methods...

Correlation Between Tissue Densities in Computed Tomography and Three Different Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Units (In Vitro)

Background and Aim: Bone density is of great assistance in the selection of the proper implant site. The present study aimed to assess the correlation between tissue densities in computed tomography (CT) and three different cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) units. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, a radiographic phantom consisting of a transparent polymethyl methacrylate (PM...

Artifact reduction techniques in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modality

Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced and became more common based on its low cost, fast image procedure rate and low radiation dose compared to CT. This imaging modality improved diagnostic and treatment-planning procedures by providing three-dimensional information with greatly reduced level of radiation dose compared to 2D dental imaging modalitie...

مقایسه دقت توموگرافی سه‌بعدی با اشعه مخروطی با توموگرافی کامپیوتری مرسوم در تشخیص بیماری‌های سینوس پارانازال

Background: Paranasal sinus disease is one of the most common problems of patients that refer to ENT centers. Adding to clinical examination imaging plays an important role in diagnosis and treatment. Also the imaging of paranasal sinuses is necessary before surgery. Although computed tomography is the modality of choice for these areas, it has some disadvantages which the most important one is...
